From Amy Barbera:
Here is what I wrote about my Mom on Facebook……
My Friends I Am So Sad & Can’t Stop Crying!
PLEASE, PLEASE PRAY For My Precious Mom.
Early This Morning Before I Got To My Parents House To Take Care Of My Mom, My Dad Called Me To Tell Me To Rush To Their House Right Away Because There Was An Emergency With My Mom.. She Fell In The Bathroom & Hit Her Head Really Bad In The Bathroom & She Was Bleeding Really Bad.
The Ambulance Came To My Parents House & Thank God I Got To My Parents House To See My Mom Before They Took Her To The Hospital.
She Was Not Responding At All When I Tried To Talk To Her But When The Paramedics Where Taking Her To The Ambulance On The Stretcher She Called For Me And Told Me She Loved Me & She Said To Tell TC & My Sister Julie What Happened. I Am Shaking & So Upset Because My Dad Said She Is Not Responding When He Talks To Her Or The Doctors Talk To Her At The Hospital.
They Think She May Have Had A Stroke And That Is What Caused Her To Fall & Hit Her Head.
Due To Covid My Dad Is The Only One Allowed At The Hospital So I Am Here At My Parents House So Upset & Shaken Up.
This Is So Awful And To Happen The Week Of Christmas Is Even More Awful.. PLEASE PRAY FOR MY MOM.. I Just Want Her To Be OK!
Oreo is so sad too!
When Cute Judy Lee first arrived at the hospital she was non responsive, bleeding excessively, and couldn’t move her right arm at all. They took brain scans and they indicated a possible stroke. Since she had arrived shortly after the stroke, the doctor recommended a tissue plasminogen activator (TPA).
TPA is a protein involved in the breakdown of blood clots. It is a serine protease found on endothelial cells, the cells that line the blood vessels. As an enzyme, it catalyzes the conversion of plasminogen to plasmin, the major enzyme responsible for clot breakdown. However, the drug known as tPA, or tissue plasminogen activator, has been a lightning rod since it was first approved in the United States in 1996. Although studies have found that the drug can reduce the brain damage wrought by strokes, it can also cause potentially fatal bouts of cerebral bleeding.
But Judy has shown steady and miraculous improvement after only taking the drug for just a couple of hours. She is how talking better by the minute and can now move her right arm and body.
The doctor and nurses said they have never seen such a quick and positive response in such a short time and are hopeful for a steady recovery!
One minute she’s completely non-responsive and a few hours later she’s smiling again like Cute Judy Lee!
