“I Only Have Ice? for You” song as not sung by The Flamingos
Are them stars bright tonight (sha bop sha bop)
I don’t know if it’s cloudy or fright night (sha bop sha bop)
I only have Ice for you … dear
(Sha bop sha bop)
The Moon may be full
(Sha bop sha bop)
But I can’t see (sha bop sha bop) a thing ’cause I’m a ghoul
Yes! I only have Ice for you
I don’t know if we’re in a cat house
Or in a Hanna-Barbera Looney Tune
(Sha bop sha bop)
You are here, there, everywhere
(Sha bop sha bop)
As so is me
(Sha bop sha bop)
Maybe millions of people (sha bop sha bop) watch me in my dreams pee
But they all should just disappear … soon
‘Cause I only have Ice for you!
‘Cause I only have Ice for you!
Al Dubin, wrote lyrics for enduring songs of the stage and screen, won an Academy Award in 1936 for “Lullaby of Broadway” and may be best known for his five-year partnership with music composer Harry Warren at Warner Bros., which produced a string of hits — “42nd Street,” “We’re in the Money,” “I Only Have Eyes for You” and “The Boulevard of Broken Dreams,” among others.
A man of lusty appetites, however, Dubin (1891-1945) spent his final years alone, obese and addicted to alcohol and morphine before dropping dead on a Manhattan street at age 53.
A man truly ahead of his time!
Very interesting tribute
I like it
Keep laughing
