Goblin Hallow Murder
It was about 160 years ago that Ann Beaton was ruthlessly murdered with a grubbing hoe on a warm spring day in May, 1859. The settlement then known as Orwell Rear (present day Lyndale) was left shocked and saddened by the brutal murder of 40 year old Annie Beaton. There weren’t any two-wakes with visiting hours back then. So she was just laid out in a barn and villagers were required to pass by and touch the body. The belief was that the touch of the guilty party would make the body bleed even more.
But the murder site has been haunted ever since. Yes ……
Globin’s Ghost As It Be
near the Scottish settlement
of Lyndale on Queens Road
can give you quite a fright
especially
if you happen to
stumble upon
Annie Beaton’s
murder site
In the Dark of Night!
