Wit and Wisdom for the Average Person:

(Even) my anxieties have anxieties!

Sometimes I lie awake at night and ask ‘Where have I gone wrong’, then a voice says to me ‘This is going to take more than one night!’

Don’t worry about the world coming to an end today. It’s already tomorrow in Australia.

I’ve developed a new philosophy. I only dread one day at a time.

  1. It’s not the trouble in China. It’s not tribal wars in Africa causing famine. It’s not even the question who will have control of our own government when I wake in the morning. It’s the price of EGGS! The price of eggs! The price of eggs at my local grocers that keeps me awake tonight.

  2. One day at a time is probably right.
I used to have some strong anxiety attacks, but, I suppose, I intentionally was able to get rid of them. When I had terrible heart palpitations, shortness of breath, feeling like I am fainting or passing out, I used to run outdoors whether it was day or night. I know, not everybody can do that. I simply felt like I didn’t have any air to breath with, so I was literally running. After that I used cold water compress on the back of neck and was trying to calm the breathing and hear rate. That’s when you need to count how you breath in and out. My problem is that each attack was also accompanied by hypoglycemia. That caused even more anxiety.
I use to take motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca) tincture here and there, in higher doses than it’s suggested. It is a herbal tincture. I am originally from Latvia, Europe, and we used natural things there a lot. Over time any anxieties have completely disappeared. I only got these attacks after 45, but it seems as I reached 60, they just went away.

      1. I was somewhat aware of that, but I never seemed to get around it. I feel like I am very well at the moment. I am also not worried much about anything. I also started to implement my new approach what I explaining in articles in my lifeschool blog: https://inesepogalifeschool.com/ Thank you for suggestion! I know if I was better with acupuncture, I’d most likely use it. I even bought a book about acupuncture some 30 years ago. I mean, I never tried it seriously. I would imagine it really helps if you know how to use the pressure on the specific points properly.
