Oh, cluck, can you see, by the coops early light
What so cruelly I am forced to lay eggs, morning, noon into the night.
With broad feathers and white do-do, what a perilous sight!
O’er the rafters we watch’d, the coop gallantly steaming?
And the lights burning glare, eggs dropping through the air,
Gave proof thro’ the night that my backside was still there.
O say, does that Egg-Splattered Banner yet wave
O’er the farm I’m not free, just an egg-laying slave!!!
“Cluck … Cluck … Cluck … Oy Vey!”
